Maninder Singh Brar has pleaded guilty to the fatal plane crash in west London.
A 28-year-old Indian-origin man has admitted causing the death of a couple in their 60s after a fatal crash on the M4 motorway in west London last month, PTI reported.Maninder Singh Brar pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday to two counts of manslaughter, two counts of causing death while not insured, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, handling stolen goods and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.Metropolitan Police said Brar was driving a black BMW in Hillingdon on the night of June 1 when it collided with a white Volkswagen Golf and then left the scene.Paramedics attended the scene, but 63-year-old Muhammad Hajila died at the scene. His wife, Dale Jan Hajela, 62, who was traveling with him, was taken to hospital in critical condition and died a few days later.A 29-year-old man was also injured in the accident and taken to hospital.
Police said his injuries were not life-threatening or life-altering.Acting Detective Inspector Fiyaz Janjua, who is leading the investigation, described the case as “truly tragic” and said Brar’s guilty plea reflected the seriousness and consequences of his actions.“Our deepest sympathy and support remain with the family of Mohammed and Dil Jan, who have suffered an unimaginable loss,” Janjua said. He added that this case serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of dangerous driving and its lasting impact on victims, their families and the wider community.Brar was arrested on June 6 and is due to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on August 23.
