Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday urged Kanwariyas to maintain discipline and uphold the “dignity” of Lord Ram, the values of Lord Krishna and the simplicity of Lord Shiva, while warning against anti-social elements allegedly seeking to create unrest.

Yogi Adityanath was in Shamli district to attend the inauguration ceremony and lay the foundation for 89 development projects worth over $581 Crores.
“Today, no one is stopping the Kanwar Yatra. It is progressing peacefully and with enthusiasm. The government stands with the Kanwariyas, and the administration and security forces are serving them,” he said.
Appealing to the pilgrims of Kanwar to maintain discipline, he said, “We are descendants of Lord Ram, belong to the land of Lord Krishna and are devotees of Lord Shiva. We should uphold Ram’s ‘maryada’, Krishna’s values and Shiva’s simplicity. There should not be any unruly behavior on trivial issues.”

Alleging that some people tried to create trouble during the pilgrimage, Adityanath said, “Some anti-social elements are trying to incite violence and tarnish the image of Kanwar Yatra. If anyone tries to create trouble or disturb the atmosphere, such people should be removed immediately. We should not allow anyone to compromise the sanctity and dignity of this pilgrimage.”
He said the state government would continue to provide all possible support to ensure safety, comfort and smooth conduct of the Kanwar Yatra.
The Kanwar Yatra will begin on July 30 and end on August 11. During this period, devotees of Lord Shiva will collect holy water from the Ganges in Haridwar, carry it on foot and offer it to Lord Shiva in temples across Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh.
Accusing the Congress and the Samajwadi Party of being worshipers and followers of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the UP chief minister said, “Those who were changing the demographics – people from the Samajwadi Party and the Congress – are worshipers of Jinnah. That is why there has been exodus from Kandhla and Kirana. On the contrary, we are worshipers of farmers. Whenever the Jinnah followers get a chance, they will divide you. They will divide you along caste and region lines. They will spread chaos and threaten the safety of the girls and the business community.”

Adityanath also alleged that the ‘recruitment syndicate’ had deprived deserving youth of government jobs before 2017. He added that the network had been dismantled, stressing that recruitment was now being done transparently.
In an apparent criticism of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over government jobs, Adityanath described the alleged network as a “Saivai syndicate”, referring to Yadav’s native village.
“Now, when government jobs are advertised in Uttar Pradesh, the Saivai union that snatched away employment rights of youth can no longer do so. Today, every family and every section of society gets a chance to secure government jobs,” he said.
The Prime Minister also claimed that before the BJP came to power in the state in 2017, people faced action for expressing their religious beliefs.
“Before 2017, people were charged and shot for raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan. Kanwar yatras were stopped, roads were blocked, Ramlila processions were not allowed,” he added.
Claiming that the situation has changed, Adityanath said the BJP-led NDA government is working for farmers and youth.

“Today, we can proudly say that Chaudhary Charan Singh’s vision for farmers and youth is being realized by the BJP and NDA government. On the one hand, farmers are being empowered, while on the other hand, employment and business opportunities are being created for the youth,” he said.
Highlighting the law and order situation in the state, the Chief Minister said security is being provided not only to citizens but also to investors, which helps attract investment and promote development.
