In a meeting with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said nearly 95% of land acquisition in the northern section has already been completed and also sought approvals for the southern section.

The Prime Minister said that the simultaneous implementation of both the northern and southern corridors would reduce costs and ensure faster completion of the project.

Revanth Reddy also pressed for approval of the proposed expressway linking Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh capital region, saying the project was envisaged under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. He called on the Center to issue the necessary approvals as soon as possible.

Highlighting another major proposal, Gadkari briefed on the planned 12-lane expressway connecting the proposed future city of Bharat to Bandar Port (Machilipatnam) via Amaravati.

According to the state government, the expressway will reduce the travel distance between Hyderabad and Vijayawada by about 100 km while significantly reducing the transportation time of goods between Hyderabad and the port.

The Chief Minister also sought early forest clearances for the proposed Mannanur-Srisailam elevated corridor, which passes through the Nallamala Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary Area and provides connectivity to the Srisailam temple and reservoir.

In addition, it sought approval for the construction of a six-lane alternative expressway connecting Mancherial and Hyderabad to facilitate traffic on the existing Rajiv Expressway. Assuring that the state government would undertake the process of acquiring the required land, he said that the project would stimulate agricultural and commercial development across northern Telangana.

Later, the Prime Minister met Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan and requested steps to be taken to develop the proposed airports at Warangal (Mamanwar) and Adilabad as per international standards, citing their strategic and commercial importance.

In search of a comprehensive aviation hub, Revanth Reddy requested that Warangal Airport include maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, air cargo services and hangars.

Informing the Union Minister that the land acquisition process has already been completed, he urged the Center to immediately float tenders and complete the airport by June 2, 2028, coinciding with the formation day of Telangana.

The two leaders also reviewed the architectural designs of the airport. Revanth Reddy suggested that the station reflect the rich history and architectural heritage of the Kakatiya dynasty, a suggestion that received a positive response from the Union Minister.

The Prime Minister also proposed setting up a dual-use airport in Adilabad that would house defense and civil aviation facilities. He assured the Center that the state government would purchase and provide the required lands. Similar to Warangal, he requested MRO facilities, air cargo terminals, hangars and Flying Training Organizations (FTOs) at Adilabad Airport to boost aviation training and employment.
