The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Sunday put the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya at the center of discussions during its annual organizational meeting, expressing confidence that the ongoing investigation would soon reach a “critical juncture” while urging the temple corporation to prevent any recurrence that could weaken the faith of devotees.

This stance emerged in the concluding resolution of the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Brant Pracharak Baithak meeting, which included RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkariyava Dattatreya Hosabale and 226 pracharaks and senior functionaries from across the country in Belagavi.

The alleged irregularities relate to allegations of misappropriation of millions of rupees in cash and other offerings made at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. These allegations appeared last June at the temple, which was opened in 2024.

The RSS said in its statement that the delegates viewed the incident as requiring accountability and safeguards to maintain public confidence in the temple management.

“Everyone expressed grief over the incident of irregularities in counting offerings of donation boxes at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and were confident that the ongoing SIT and police action, initiated at the behest of the Teerth Kshetra Nyas, would reach a decisive turn. The Teerth Kshetra Nyas were expected to ensure that such an incident does not occur in the future which may harm the reverence of all Ram Bhakts and their deep faith towards the Ram Mandir.”

Briefing reporters after the meeting, RSS All India Communications Coordinator Sunil Ambekar said the Ayodhya issue received detailed attention during the three-day discussions and explained how the participants viewed the ongoing investigation.

“The deliberations were detailed. Most of the speakers expressed confidence in the Special Investigation Team of Uttar Pradesh Police. They felt that it would yield clear results soon. The investigation was conducted after a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. It was also decided to conduct the temple activities in a manner that would not disturb the faith of the devotees,” he said.

The meeting, held at St Meera’s School in Angul, was attended by regional organizers from each state, officials, executive members and presidents of all 42 RSS-linked organisations, Ambekar said. Bhagwat, Hosabale and other senior leaders addressed several sessions.

Besides the Ayodhya issue, the meeting reviewed the organization’s work over the past year and discussed a range of national and organizational issues, including demographic trends, the upcoming population census and social initiatives.

“Speakers expressed concern about demographic changes, pan-India population and population imbalance. Discussions focused on the work of RSS, national issues like rural development, family welfare, disaster management, environment protection and other issues,” Ambekar said.

The organization also expressed concern about what it described as the growing impact of drug abuse, with senior leaders calling for a stronger anti-addiction movement nationwide.

Another major focus of the meeting was to review the training programs conducted after March 2026. According to the RSS, 83 Sangh Shiksha Vargs and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Vargs were organized across the country, in which 18,842 swayamsevaks received training in daily shakha, organizational methodology, rural development, family awareness, disaster management and environmental protection.

The leadership also took stock of the preparations for the RSS’s centenary year and identified organizational priorities for the coming months. “The leadership also reviewed the implementation of action plans at the shakha level and discussed an intensive expansion drive planned for September to increase the number of shakhas across the country. A review of the RSS’s centenary celebrations was conducted. Discussions were held on preparations for the farewell party planned for October,” Ambekar said.

He said the meeting also discussed engaging those involved in the centenary programs in long-term social service initiatives under the RSS’s five-year transformation program and finalizing Bhagwat’s travel schedule for 2026-27.

In addition, the delegates reviewed program plans to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Maharaj. The senior leaders also reiterated the need to strengthen efforts against drug abuse through sustained anti-addiction campaigns across the country.
