An Air Force officer was seriously injured in a violent clash over a disputed piece of land in Jodhpur, prompting the police to register an FIR against seven members of his extended family. Police said no one had been arrested as of Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place on Friday in Godha Vishnoyan (Mangal Nagar) where 47-year-old Bhagaram suffered serious head injuries while trying to intervene in a dispute over removing a fence on agricultural land. He was transferred to the Army Military Hospital (MH), where his condition remains critical.
According to the complaint filed by Bhagram’s younger brother, Omprakash, 39, the dispute arose due to an ongoing land ownership dispute with the sons of their brother, Ram Singh. It was alleged that on July 10, the accused arrived at the field with a JCB machine and a dumper loaded with gravel and started removing the fence.
Omprakash claimed that when he started recording the alleged trespass on his mobile phone, his nephew Ashok allegedly hit him with a camper, causing him to fall to the ground. He alleged that Ashok, along with Rakesh, Binty, Manish and Mahendra, assaulted him with iron pipes and sticks.
Hearing his cries, Hema, wife of Bhagram and Omprakash, rushed to the spot. The complaint alleges that the accused was attacked with an axe, iron bars and sticks, resulting in serious head injuries and a broken hand.
The police registered a case under relevant sections of assault, rioting and damage to property.
According to the investigating officer, ASI Bharathlal Meena, the accused party obtained judicial residence on the disputed land. He said the clash broke out after the complainant tried to cultivate the land despite the stop order. Police said the land dispute is still ongoing, with reports of a similar confrontation between the two families last year.
