Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Satluj’ was removed from the OTT platform soon after its digital release. After removal, the film was shown in multiple locations across the country.
As per the latest reports, the movie ‘Satluj’ was recently screened in Jammu for the local community. A few days ago, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee also announced that it would hold screenings and seminars in support of the film.
‘Satluj’ film screenings in Jammu amid ongoing controversy
According to ANI, Gurdwara Parbandhak District Committee (DGPC), Jammu, conducted the parade on Friday, July 10, which was attended by people from various districts.Treasurer Sardar Jagpal Singh issued a statement on the parade, stating that more such parades will be organized at gurdwaras in the coming days.
“Look at the gathering here; people of all faiths – Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and others – are present. The film started at 8:00 pm, and it is now around 10:20 pm. It is puzzling why the government or the people concerned would want to hide the truth. This film is currently showing in the gurdwara, and the screening will continue in various gurdwaras till the 16th,” his statement read.The move comes after the film was removed in India from the OTT platform on which it was released within 48 hours. The DGPC joined DSGMC, Akali Dal, SGPC, Waris Punjab De, along with several other organisations, in holding public screenings of the film across the country.

Following the public backlash over the film’s removal from OTT, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement addressing the matter. The statement claimed that the film was released without any certification, ANI reported.“Satluj did not have the required certification for theatrical release. Instead of complying with the certification process, the makers changed the title of the film and released it on the OTT platform on Friday,” the statement read.
