Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein return to Portland.
The duo will host A Portland rewatch podcast, Hollywood Reporter I’ve learned. Bodlandia: AO Rewatchproduced by Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players (BMP), will launch on all podcast platforms on July 16. The Big Money Players Network, a joint venture between Ferrell and iHeartMedia, may prefer listening on the iHeartRadio app.
With new episodes weekly, Bodlandia: AO Rewatch We’ll see (on YouTube; hear elsewhere) Armisen and Brownstein revisit their classic TV series, which “documented the hipster bird fads as decor, one-of-a-kind bikes, and extensive mustache grooming that defined Oregon’s capital for a generation,” as BMP recalls it. The podcast will feature special visits from the Mayor (Kyle MacLachlan) and other beloved Portlanders, including Aimee Mann and Portland Director and co-creator Jonathan Krisel.
There is a lot to discuss: Portland It ran for 77 episodes across eight seasons on IFC.
“Our hope is with Portland Rewatching the podcast is to continue the conversations we started when the show first aired. “Conversations about community, how place shapes and defines us, how much of life is performance, and how absurdity is often the best way to make sense of the world,” Brownstein said. “Revisiting these episodes also reminded me of the ways in which Fred is uniquely funny; we loved spending time together and reminiscing, singing the praises of the cast and crew and the city itself, and having a new way to connect with our audience.”
