TNPSC announces 839 vacancies for Diploma and IIT, including posts in Rural Development Department

TNPSC CTS 2026 Notification: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released notification for Combined Technical Services (CTS) (Diploma/ITI Level) Examination 2026, announcing recruitment for 839 vacancies across 56 technical posts in various government departments of the state.

The online application process will begin on July 17 and continue until August 15.The recruitment drive includes vacancies in departments like Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Agriculture, Public Works, Highways, Employment and Training. The written examination is tentatively scheduled for September 20, 2026.The Rural Development Department has a large share of vacanciesAmong the advertised posts, the Rural Development Department and Panchayat Raj have a large number of vacancies.

The authority reported that there are 149 vacancies for the post of road inspector and 129 vacancies for supervisor or junior tolling officer in the department.Other key posts include 119 vacancies for Junior Training Officer in the Employment and Training Department, 110 vacancies for Assistant Agricultural Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and 101 vacancies for Junior Drawing Officer in the Water Resources Wing of the Ministry of Public Works.

Eligibility and selection processCandidates applying for recruitment must possess the prescribed Diploma, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate, National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant engineering or technical discipline, depending on the position.The selection process will consist of a written test followed by document verification.

TNPSC said that there will be no interview for these technical posts at diploma and ITI level.Application scheduleAs per the notification, the recruitment process has started by publishing the notification on 7th July. The online application window will open on 17 July and close at 11.59pm on 15 August.Eligible candidates will be required to submit their applications through TNPSC online examination portal after the registration link becomes active. Candidates are advised to check the educational qualifications, eligibility requirements and specific job requirements mentioned in the official notification before submitting their application forms.The committee will conduct the written exam on September 20, taking into account the published exam schedule.
