Telugu director Nandini Reddy, who recently directed Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangram, has shared her support for the Diljit Dosanjh starrer Satluj. The film was in the news after it was recently released on OTT and removed from the platform within two days.
The director recently spoke about his absence from the last 30 minutes of the film.Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, Nandini Reddy wrote, “Started watching this amazing movie…. I stopped before the last 30 minutes to take a break and watch it the next day because I was so traumatized by the shock of it…. I wish I had finished it.”
The director praises the team behind the film
“Oh!” The Baby director also praised director Honey Trehan and actor Diljit Dosanjh for bringing the story to the screen.
She said films should have the freedom to tell difficult truths, even if they are painful to watch. She wrote: “If we do not have the spaces to tell the truth, no matter how painful it is, what is the meaning of freedom in this country.. More power to you @diljitdosanjh @honeytrehan.” She also reposted a video clip praising the film. The post read: “Watch this as soon as you can. For the unversed, ‘Satluj’ was released on Zee5, however, it was removed from the platform within two days of its release.
What is “Stolog” about?
‘Satluj’ tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The film follows his fight after he exposes police atrocities and the illegal killing and burning of around 25,000 people.After its removal, the streaming platform issued a statement but did not explain the reasoning behind the decision. “In light of the current developments, Satluj will not be available in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring all appropriate avenues through due process to return the film to our audiences at the earliest opportunity,” the statement read.
