Julia Garner will star in true crime drama Guilty Creatures on Apple TV, directed by Craig Gillespie

Julia Garner’s next TV project will be on Apple TV.

The three-time Emmy Award winner will star and executive produce Guilty creaturesa true crime movie. The tech giant’s streaming service has given a series order to the project, which is based on the book by Mikita Brotman Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida.

Craig Gillespie (SupergirlApple Your friends and neighbors) is set to direct the series. Stuart Zitterman (American Sports Story, The AmericansSarah Delap will serve as showrunner.Bodies Bodies Bodies) is an adaptation of the book. Tomorrow Studios produces.

Guilty Creatures will “dive into the psyche of the torrid romance and subsequent murders between two adulterous but God-fearing young men, revealing their complicated lives and the emotional toll of living as killers for 18 years.” Brotman’s book reveals that Mike Williams disappeared in December 2000. No body was ever found, but five years later, Mike’s old friend Brian Winchester divorced his wife Kathy and married Mike’s wife Denise. The truth about what happened to Mike finally came out 12 years later.

Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partner, developed the series through first-look deals with Garner’s Alma Margo and Gillespie’s Fortunate Jack Productions. Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Alyssa Pachner executive produce at Tomorrow Studios. Garner, Zicherman, DeLappe, Gillespie, Annie Marter of Fortunate Jack, and Brottman also executive produce.
