Aamir Khan marries Gauri Sprat at 61: Here’s everything you need to know about their 13-year age gap and their love story

Bollywood star Aamir Khan has officially entered a new phase in his personal life. On Sunday, the actor married his long-time partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony held at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.

Instead of a lavish celebration, the couple opted for a private registry party attended by only close family members and a few friends.

The age difference between the newlyweds is 13 years

Aamir Khan, who was born on March 14, 1965, is 61 years old, while Gauri Sprat, whose birthday is August 21, 1978, is 47 years old. The couple shares an age gap of 13 years. However, their relationship is built on a connection dating back decades rather than recent acquaintances.Amer and Jouri first met nearly 25 years ago, but romance was never part of the equation at the time. Their lives took different directions until fate brought them together again in 2024 through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, in Bengaluru. After their reunion, the two spent about a year in a long-distance relationship before making things official. Aamir finally introduced Gauri to the world during his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025, referring to her as his “partner” and putting an end to months of speculation surrounding his personal life.

Soon after, Gauri moved from Bengaluru to Mumbai with her son from her previous marriage. Around the same time, she stepped away from her role at the hair care company and became associated with Aamir Khan’s production house, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Intimate wedding celebration

The wedding was deliberately kept out of the limelight. Aamir’s sons Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, from his first marriage to Reena Dutta, were among the family members present on the occasion. The guest list also included director Ashutosh Gowariker, who collaborated with Aamir in Lagaan, along with actor Eli Avraam, making it a cohesive celebration rather than a star-studded one.

Aamir Khan’s marriages over the years

This is Aamir Khan’s third marriage. He was previously married to director Kiran Rao, whom he met while working on the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan, where she worked as an assistant director. The two married in December 2005 and then welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan through surrogacy in 2011.Although Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 after 16 years of marriage, they have consistently maintained a cordial relationship. Over the years, they both described each other as close friends and continued to nurture Azad while also collaborating professionally on various projects.
