Diljit Dosanjh pays respects to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra after ‘Satluj’ release on OTT.

After being delayed for over three years, Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Satluj’ has finally made its way to online streaming platforms. Post its release, the popular singer and actor got emotional and reflected on the hurdles they faced to get the film approved and released.

‘Satluj’, previously titled ‘Punjab 95’, tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

Taking to his Instagram account, the actor-singer spoke about the release of ‘Satluj’ and paid his respect to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. He shared a clip from the film itself and penned an emotional caption, sharing, “Finally after 4 years of fighting.. SATLUJ #Panjab95 has been released on @zee5 Shaheed Jaswant Singh khalra Ji Nu Lakh Lakh Parnaam.”He further wrote, “Mai Aksar Team Nu Pushda Rehnda C Ke Eh Film Kadey v Ni Augi? Asi Apni Kahani Nhi Das Sakde? khalra Saab Di Avaaz Nu 1995 ch v Dabaa Dita Geya.. Te Aj V Ona Di Avaaz Nu Dabaa Rahe Aa.. Asi Kithey Khadey An? The story of ‘Satluj’ is inspired by the real life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Besides Dosanjh, who plays the lead role, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Jagjit Sandhu and Geetika Vaidya Ulyan. The film revolves around how Jaswant Singh Khalra was involved in the investigation into what happened to about 25,000 people who were classified as missing during the insurgency era in Punjab. He was on his way to uncover the truth about the missing people, their deaths, and the intervention of the judiciary. He even announced his information.
