A public feud between Candace Owens and Andrew Colvet dominated portions of X on July 4, with the two sides disagreeing sharply over what was said in private conversations about Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and its late founder Charlie Kirk. Owens claimed Colvet told her about a show that could have helped take the organization “to the next level,” while Colvet categorically denied making such comments.
Neither side offered public evidence to prove their version of events, leaving the controversy as a very clear clash between two well-known conservative figures.
Candace Owens says Andrew Colvet privately shared details of the alleged proposal
The latest exchange began after Andrew Colvitt rejected online claims that TPUSA had received significant financial support. In response, Candace Owens accused him of being dishonest and said she personally heard a different version of it.“Andrew is lying through his teeth. I’m going to take a lie detector test on this. He told me outright that Bibi offered to ‘take the tipping point to the next level, and Charlie said no.'” This was in the context of the same conversation where he told me that Charlie turned down Bibi to appear on his show. The only reason I know Bibi called Netanyahu up in the Hamptons is because of Andrew Colvet. Men shouldn’t be able to tell a blatant lie like that.
“We are a weaker society because of men like this.”
Owens later clarified that she was never told a specific dollar amount.“I should add a caveat, I was never told it was millions or billions or any specific amount. Just an offer to ‘take it to the next level’.”She also said that a Colvet family friend later told her that Colvet complained about losing millions after Charlie Kirk rejected the offer. Owens stressed that the figure mentioned did not come directly from Colvet, but confirmed that she believed an offer had been made.“There is no doubt that the offer has arrived though,” she wrote.
Andrew Colvitt rejects the claims and asks Candace Owens to provide evidence
Colvet responded by calling the allegations completely false and said the story was based on rumors and not facts. “This is literally all BS.” He denied making any offer at all, and said TPUSA could not legally accept foreign money in any case. “Netanyahu did not give millions of dollars to TPUSA. It is literally just an internet rumor promoted by Max Blumenthal.”Colvet also rejected Owens’ claim that he discussed the matter with her or his family members. “I never told Candace any of this because it never happened. I never told any of the family any of this either because again, it never happened.”He ended by challenging critics to provide evidence. “If Israel offers us money, prove it. Show the proof. You won’t be able to, because it’s a lie and it’s always been that way.”The dispute is part of a broader rift that has existed for years between Owens and figures associated with TPUSA.
This latest clash focuses on whether a private conversation and alleged proposal ever happened. Owens says she’s sure it happened because Colvet told her personally. Colvet says the conversation never happened and that the entire claim is false. At this time, neither party has released documents, recordings, letters, or other public evidence to support its position. As a result, the dispute remains a direct disagreement between the two characters, with supporters on both sides supporting the narrative they believe.
