Jesse Eisenberg (Real pain, When you’re done saving the world, Social network) told the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) about social media and his thoughts on Facebook’s parent Meta Platforms boss and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Saturday.

Eisenberg is not a social media user. He explained: “I talk about myself a lot, and this is not healthy.” “I don’t use any of those things. All of those things scare me a lot — Facebook, social media, Twitter, whatever. I actually feel offended when I talk publicly about myself. It’s disgusting, so I’m not going to say, ‘Hey, I drank this water.’ All of those things scare me.”
One recent question about his appearance saw a fan asking if Eisenberg had experienced anything magical or that he couldn’t explain it logically. “I took acid once,” he replied. “And I remember thinking: ‘I’m on the floor, I can’t move.’ And I said to my friend, who used it regularly, ‘Is this normal?’ And he said, ‘No, you should be able to move.’ “And then also having a baby,” Eisenberg concluded, “I think taking acid and bringing life into this world and shepherding it through happiness and hard times are the two most special experiences of my life.”
Eisenberg’s KVIFF Talk capped off a busy day for him. Late in the morning, he received the festival’s President’s Award before the film was screened Dualdirected by Richard Ayoade, in which Eisenberg plays the lead role.
The star is one of many big names taking the spotlight during the Czech festival’s double 60th anniversary edition, which runs from July 3 to 11.
