Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai due to viral fever. He was reportedly hospitalized on Friday at Thane Jupiter Hospital after suffering a bout of viral fever and cold.

Shinde, who is also Shiv Sena chief, has been strongly advised by doctors to rest, officials said.
Shinde had complained of cold and fever over the past few days and sought treatment, according to officials. Shinde is likely to be discharged from the hospital later on Saturday.
