Hollywood celebrities took to social media on Friday to celebrate or troll Taylor Swift’s true love story as the Kansas City Chiefs superstar singer-songwriter married Travis Kelce during a star-studded wedding in New York.
Most of them talked about glitzy pre-weddings where wedding guests had to give up their phones to attend the Madison Square Garden event. Shark tank Barbara Corcoran posted a video on Instagram before the wedding from her hotel room, where she explained, wearing a bathrobe and sipping champagne, that she was preparing for the big day.
“I’m getting ready for a very special wedding. It’s a love story. The groom is a hunk. I can’t wait to get there and I’m so happy for them,” Corcoran said. Camila Cabello appeared on TikTok in a short video where she put the finishing touches on her eye-catching look, including a red dress, while Mecano’s song “Hijo de la Luna” played in the background.
Jessica Chastain also hinted at her camera-ready look at Madison Square Garden before seemingly jetting off to the wedding. The Oscar winner’s Instagram post contained a photo of Chastain in a classic Hollywood look, with the caption: “I don’t know about you…but I feel 1922,” which was also a play on the lyrics of Swift’s song “22.”
Elmo, the famous red color Sesame Street star, took to Instagram to spread the love about the newlyweds with the post: “Elmo is red! Elmo’s friends said I do! Congratulations to Ms. Taylor Swift and Mr. Travis Kelsey! Elmo loves you! ❤️❤️❤️”
Elmo took it no better to miss the star-studded wedding than Amy Schumer, who mocked the power couple, with her sassy Instagram posts, including one photo of her dressed in a sarcastic outfit about Thursday night’s rehearsal dinner, with the caption: “The rehearsal dinner was sick. Who knew?”[s] What do you have planned for us?
Before the wedding on Friday, Dolly Parton on Instagram thanked Swift and Kelsey for donating $2 million to her Imagination Library, which provides children’s books at no cost to families, among their pre-wedding charitable donations.
“Taylor and Travis, this is Dolly, and I was just told that you will be donating $2 million to my Imagination Library. I’m so overwhelmed and thrilled by this gratitude,” Parton said in a video, adding: “You know the mission of the Dollywood Foundation is to dream more, care more, learn more, be more, and thank you again for your very generous gift.” We will continue this mission in even greater ways now with your money. So, thank you, and know that I will always love you.
Earlier, the Grammy Museum Foundation also thanked the power couple on Instagram for donating to the Grammys in the Schools educational programs. “Their transformative gift will help expand our mission of providing music education to students across the country, creating opportunities that will inspire and empower hundreds of thousands of young people for years to come,” Michael Stika, president and CEO of the Grammy Museum, said in a post.
