As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce prepare for their “happily ever after” following their dreamy Madison Square Garden wedding, attention has now turned to what could be one of the most famous prenuptial agreements in recent celebrity history.Much before the couple got married, various news reports claimed that the couple faces a huge hurdle before marriage due to their high net worth, assets and other financial deals related to their careers.According to the Daily Mail, Taylor and Travis are believed to have signed a 40-page prenuptial agreement before tying the knot in front of their 1,000 guests. The publication notes that given the size of their combined wealth, the document could be wide-ranging, covering different areas. While neither Swift nor Kelsey confirmed the existence of the document or the terms of the prenuptial, Manhattan-based divorce attorney Jacqueline Newman offered her professional opinion on how such an agreement should be structured. “I think a prenuptial agreement would actually be a very simple document — what’s his now will be his, and what’s hers is hers,” Newman told the Daily Mail. The lawyer, who specializes in high-net-worth divorces and marital negotiations, suggested that assets acquired before marriage would likely remain separate, while assets purchased jointly using joint names, such as a house, would “both get what they put in plus any appreciation.”
According to the report, one of the most unusual provisions that could be included is a “privacy clause.” The report notes that such a clause could prevent either party from publicly discussing aspects of the relationship after a breakup, with speculation centering on Swift’s songwriting and history of being inspired by personal experiences. However, Newman emphasized that the couple’s future earnings will likely remain separate, “unless they decide to do something together in some capacity.”The report also lists the vast difference between the couple’s fortunes. Swift, who entered the billionaire club after the success of her Eras Tour, is widely viewed as one of the world’s richest musicians. Her business empire spans music, film, copyright, and real estate. Her real estate portfolio includes multi-million dollar residences in New York, Rhode Island, California, and Tennessee.
She also owns a Dassault Falcon 7X private jet worth US$55 million. The Daily Mail reports that its music catalog generates more than US$250 million, including streaming revenue, as well as earnings from touring, promotion and film projects, including more than US$100 million in film deals.Meanwhile, Kelce has built a successful career on and off the football field. According to the report, the Kansas City Chiefs earned more than $100 million during his NFL career, in addition to endorsement deals with major brands and the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.
