The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana Police on Thursday arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for allegedly possessing assets worth $ 200 crore, which is disproportionate to his known sources of income, officials said.

ACB authorities conducted massive searches at the residence of Sankireddy Fahim Reddy, who works as a DSP in the Police Computer Services (PCS) wing of the department in Hyderabad, and 15 other places connected to him, since 5 am.

According to an official statement, two ACB teams raided his villa at Fasila Meadows, Narsinghi, while simultaneous search operations were launched at multiple locations across the state.

During the raids, officials reportedly uncovered significant assets that were allegedly obtained illegally, by indulging in corrupt practices and questionable means during his service. “As per estimates, the market value of the assets amassed by Fahim Reddy is more than $Rs 200 crore,” said an ACB official familiar with the matter.

The official said that Fahim Reddy was arrested after completion of search operations and will be produced before the ACB court on Friday for remand.

ACB raids revealed that the accused DSP owned properties including a villa in Vesela Meadows, Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad, a G+2+ Pent House residential house and an apartment in Sai Prabha Residency, Telecom Nagar, another apartment in Kranti Ceon Apartments in Gachibowli, a share in G+5 commercial complex measuring 500 sq ft. Yards at Lanco Hills Road, Manikonda, is a 3000 sq ft commercial space. Near Manikonda Marrichettu Junction, 2 residential apartments in Abhinanda Residency in Tellapur are 500 sq.ft. Open courtyards at Pragati Resorts on the outskirts of the city.

Moreover, Fahim Reddy also owned 3.5 acres of agricultural land in Zaheerabad, Sangareddy, 46 acres of agricultural land in two different places in Karnataka, and another one-acre piece of land in Devanahalli, Bangalore, which is an open plot of land measuring 200 square feet. Plots near Kameneni Hospital, Nagoli, 2 open plots of 400 sqm. yards and 200 sq. yards in Patancheru, and a 1,000 sq. yards plot of land in Mominpet, Vikarabad, besides two acres of land at the same place and an agricultural land of 4.20 acres in Mochintala village.

ACB Bank also found it invested $75 lakh in Sri Raghavendra Rock Sand Minerals. They also recovered almost all net cash $3.60 lakh in his house and another $40 thousand in a benami house.

“Furthermore, he was in possession of gold jewelery weighing approximately 2 kilograms, silver articles weighing approximately 20 kilograms and bank balances amounting to approximately $20 lakh,” the ACB statement said.
