Gangster Anmol Bishnoi has moved a special MCOCA court in Mumbai seeking permission to surrender in the 2024 Salman Khan eviction case, saying it is necessary to enable him to participate in the proceedings and ensure a fair trial.

In his application, Anmol Bishnoi, currently detained in Delhi’s Tihar Jail after he was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in its case related to alleged nexus with terror syndicates comprising the syndicate led by his elder brother Lawrence Bishnoi, said he wished to surrender voluntarily before a Mumbai court “to face the ongoing trial and join the judicial proceedings in the interest of fair trial and in the interest of justice”.
He asserted that though he is already in judicial custody in the NIA case, he cannot appear in person before the Mumbai court unless appropriate directions are issued.
He therefore sought a subpoena to be issued to the prison authorities so that his surrender could be formally registered and appropriate remand proceedings, whether physical or virtual, could be conducted.
The case relates to a shooting outside Khan’s residence Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area on the morning of April 14, 2024, when two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire before fleeing. The Mumbai Police later invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), claiming that the attack was carried out at the behest of the Bishnoi network.

Anmol Bishnoi was deported from the United States in November 2025, and was arrested by the NIA upon arrival in connection with its investigation into the alleged terror gang network.
