Suniel Shetty suddenly quit filming as soon as he heard about Divya Bharti's death. 'He knew her very well,' says Madhu.

Veteran actor Madhoo recently recalled an emotional moment from the sets of ‘Hum Hain Bemisaal’, recalling how Sunil Shetty suddenly left the shoot after receiving the devastating news of Divya Bharti’s death. Madhu revealed that Sunil had a close relationship with Divya and immediately flew to Mumbai upon hearing about her death.When asked if she had met Divya Bharti, Madhu said they did not have the opportunity to meet in person. However, she said their families knew each other well, as Divya’s mother and father were close friends who often met at the beach. She also recalled that Hema Malini had cast Divya in her directorial debut, ‘Dil Aashna Hai’.So I knew she was part of my family’s film,” the ‘Roja’ actress said in an interview with IANS. Recalling the incident that took place on the sets of ‘Hum Hain Bemisaal’, Madhu said, “I was shooting for a film called ‘Hum Hain Bemisaal’, and we were in Shimla. Sunil Shetty and I were shooting when Divya died. While we were shooting, Sunil knew her well, so he left the shoot to fly down the road.”Divya Bharti died on April 5, 1993, at the age of 19, after falling from the balcony of her fifth-floor apartment in Bombay. Although the circumstances surrounding her death continued to generate speculation over the years, the case was officially ruled an accidental fall.
