The much-awaited sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has been in production for over a year, and fans are eagerly anticipating every update.
Social media has been filled with speculation as to whether the announcement will be a teaser, the first single or a trailer, but the team chose to reveal the biggest update of all – the release date.

“Alappara Kelappurom! #Jailer2 hits theaters worldwide on October 15 🔥 #Jailer2FromOct15,” the makers captioned the film.The announcement confirms that ‘Jailer 2’ will hit theaters on Thursday, October 15, perfect timing to take advantage of the Dussehra holidays and the long festive weekend.
The strategic release is expected to give the film a massive opening in domestic and overseas markets. Interestingly, Dhanush and Mammootty starrer ‘OM’ is already scheduled to release on October 16. There are now speculations that the makers of ‘OM’ may reconsider their release strategy to avoid a direct clash at the box office with Rajinikanth’s film, which has now released a day ago.
However, the makers of ‘OM’ have not made any official announcement regarding the changes yet.

Naturally, the massive success of the first film brings huge expectations for ‘Jailer 2’. Released in 2023, ‘Jailer’ proved to be one of Rajinikanth’s biggest blockbusters and was also the actor’s best comeback at the box office.
