ExtraEmily was unbanned on Twitch just one day after being suspended for distracted driving

Twitch streamer ExtraEmily has been unbanned from the platform just one day after receiving suspension for a distracted driving incident during one of her live streams. The streamer’s channel is available again after Twitch temporarily removed it for violating its Community Guidelines.

The comment came after a clip from her June 28 IRL broadcast went viral on social media, showing her looking away from the road while driving. Although no one was hurt and no incident occurred, the incident quickly sparked criticism online and led to Twitch taking action against its account.

ExtraEmily returns to Twitch after a one-day suspension for distracted driving

ExtraEmily’s suspension on Twitch lasted approximately 24 hours before the platform restored her account. Visitors can now access her channel again after it was briefly replaced with a notice saying it was unavailable due to violating Twitch’s community guidelines.

The ban came on the heels of a viral clip from an IRL live stream that showed ExtraEmily driving while making a left turn. During that moment, she appeared to be looking at her phone instead of keeping her eyes on the road. As another car approached from the opposite direction, the driver blew his whistle, helping to avoid what could have become a serious accident.Immediately after the incident, ExtraEmily admitted that it was her fault.“Oh, sorry! That was bad! That was bad. I have to check my… shouts!” she said during the live broadcast. She also thanked the other driver for honking the horn, saying it helped prevent the situation from getting worse.

There was no collision, and neither car appeared to suffer any damage.

Viral driving clip brings back criticism about flow behind the wheel

Later in the broadcast, ExtraEmily explained that she had been using Tesla’s Autopilot earlier in the drive but had turned it off shortly before the accident. She added that she normally drives with Autopilot enabled and that they were about to reach their destination when the close call occurred.Twitch’s Community Guidelines clearly state that dangerous or distracted driving while interacting with a live stream is not permitted.

The rules state that it is prohibited to read chat messages or use streaming equipment while driving in a way that takes a person’s eyes off the road or hands off the steering wheel. The recent comment also reminded many viewers of a similar incident involving ExtraEmily in April 2025. At the time, she received another one-day suspension from Twitch after a live stream went viral showing her running a red light while looking at her phone. After the latest incident, some streamers and viewers are once again calling on Twitch to introduce stricter rules against live streaming while driving.ExtraEmily’s account is now back online, but the incident has continued to spark discussions about road safety and whether content creators should live stream while operating a car. Although the suspension has ended, the conversation surrounding distracted driving on live broadcasts is unlikely to end anytime soon.
