There is at least one famous couple in New York who are getting married and are not afraid of people seeing them.

Daredevil couple Angela Nicolaou and Evan Berkus climbed to the top of the Empire State Building’s tower on Wednesday.

The duo unveiled a pro-peace banner that read: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world knows peace.”

When they descended to a lower platform, Berkus knelt down and proposed to Nicolau (who is said to have agreed).

Nicolau and Berkus starred in the 2024 Netflix documentary Skywalkers: A Love StoryThe couple crossed the top of the second tallest skyscraper in the world. This trick was not part of the Netflix project.

In the clip below, CNN senior national security analyst Juliette Kaim was unimpressed and said, “This is performative. I adore love, I adore romance. This is terrible for about 10,000 different reasons, and these people will end up in prison.”

The Empire State Building was much quieter than CNN, which issued this statement, according to ABC 7: “At no time was there any danger to tenants, visitors and guests of the Empire State Building’s observation deck. It should be noted that the Empire State Building’s observation deck, at the top of the most famous building in the world in downtown New York City, provides a practical approach to unforgettable marriage proposals.”

ABC reported that police officers met the couple and took them into custody.

Skywalkers: A Love Story It arrives on Netflix in July 2024. The video’s byline reads: “Two real-life daredevils test the limits of their love and trust by illegally climbing one of the tallest buildings in the world to perform stunts.”
