Directed by Boyapati Srinu and starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Rakul in the lead roles, the film became the most watched Hindi film on the video platform.

Rakul Preet Singh shared the happy news on her Instagram story and thanked everyone for their love and support. “Some characters stay with you forever and Janaki will always be one of them. Thank you for all the love you have shown and for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka the most watched Indian film on YouTube ever. This is a special achievement,” she wrote.
The actress also thanked director Boyapati Srinu and the entire team behind the film for giving her such an unforgettable journey.

Interestingly, the film did not do well at the box office when it was released on August 10, 2017. It also reportedly became the first film in the world to cross 1 billion views on YouTube.
