With the influx of live streaming price increases, Sling TV continues to stand out as an affordable alternative thanks to its innovative approach to traditional live TV packages. While monthly plans have become the norm among competitors, Sling has expanded its offerings by implementing short-term passes — 1-day, 3-day, and 7-day passes — along with a 3-month prepaid plan that lowers prices for customers who pay in advance.
Below, everything you need to know about Sling TV plans and how to save more.
Compare sling tv packages
Sling currently has six basic plans: Orange & Blue, Orange & Blue (bundle), Essentials, Select, and Essentials & Select (bundle).
To get a big picture, Orange targets sports and family programming, while Blue largely consists of news and entertainment channels. Hence, the Orange & Blue package ticks both of these boxes, combining the offerings of the two individual plans at a discounted price. As for pricing, Orange is eligible for Sling short-term passes, which means prices start at $4.99 per day or $45.99 per month. Sling Blue starts at $45.99 per month, and Sling Orange & Blue starts at $60.99 per month.
On a more granular level, Sling Orange offers over 30 channels including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, TNT, Disney Channel, and CNN. Sling Blue offers more than 40 channels including CNN, FOX News, NFL Network, Bravo, and ID.
Recently, Sling introduced two “skinny” packages: Essentials and Select, each offering 10+ channels, with prices starting at just $19.99 per month. Once again, customers can bundle and save with the Essentials & Select plan starting at $34.99 per month. Sling Essentials includes ESPN, ESPN2, and Disney, while Sling Select includes FOX News, NFL Network, National Geographic, FS1, and more.
Sling TV add-ons
In addition to Sling’s six basic packages, the streaming device allows subscribers to build a personalized experience through a variety of add-ons and premium services. This includes themed channel packages starting at $6 per month, premium services (like HBO Max and Discovery+) starting at $5 per month, additional sports programming starting at $13.99 per month, as well as individual channel add-ons starting at $3 per month.
