Will Ferrell stars as Lonnie Hawkins in the new Skims campaign

Lonnie Hawkins – fashion designer, poet and former world number one golfer – has just launched his biggest fashion campaign to date. Well, sort of.

Will Ferrell has fully transformed into his fictional golf character in the latest SKIMS men’s cotton underwear campaign, teasing his upcoming Netflix project Falcon.

Photographed by Nadia Lee Cohen, the future No. 1 golfer in the universe appears in the campaign wearing Hawkins’ signature golf club and “Hawk” guard while modeling the brand’s cotton underwear. In a parody video for the campaign narrated by SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian, Hawkins swings his club confidently, proving to fans that he “still gets it.” The campaign also took over Times Square on digital billboards, with the slogan “His body says Retirement, SKIMS says One More Round”, appearing in the first seconds of the clip.

Falconwhich is set to premiere on Netflix on July 16, follows Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins (played by Ferrell) as he reclaims his golf career on the verge of retirement, and while his body is telling him to let go, his heart isn’t ready to give up just yet.

With the show launching in just two weeks, Ferrell has fully immersed himself in becoming “The Hawk” publicly, including a must-see Instagram page (@LonnieTheHawk) that depicts the multi-talented golfer in his daily endeavors, collaborating with professional golfers like Rickie Fowler.

With the addition of a SKIMS campaign to his resume, Hawkins’ latest project continues to blur the line between fantasy and reality, turning the legendary golfer into a celebrity before long Falcon Launches on Netflix.
