As the future of NBCUniversal enters a new phase in its planned separation from Comcast, the media company continues to cut deals for its streaming service Peacock. Latest News: Peacock is coming to YouTube Primetime Channels, in an effort to try and expand the streaming service’s reach and subscriber base.
YouTube said Monday that Peacock’s Premium Plus tier, which doesn’t include ads and costs $16.99 per month, is now available through its Primetime Channels subscription marketplace. The deal provides Spanish-language coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Love Island in the USA to the platform, with the NBA and NFL seasons returning soon.
YouTube Primetime Channels is one of the largest subscription streaming markets in the US, along with Amazon Prime Video and Roku.
Peacock has mostly avoided third-party streaming marketplaces, as well as streaming bundles, since its launch in 2020. That has left Peacock somewhat subpar compared to competitors, though it’s now making up for it last time, cutting a series of deals last year.
The first of these deals came last fall, when Peacock signed a deal to bundle with Apple TV, striking a deal with Walmart to offer Peacock for free to Walmart+ subscribers. NBCU also signed a wide-ranging deal with Google that includes carriage on YouTube TV, short-form and long-form content on YouTube, and an eventual deal for Primetime channels.
Peacock has also since been added to the Prime Video and Roku platforms. Primetime Channels already offers streaming services like HBO Max, Paramount+, and AMC+.
