Feroze Nadiadwala confirms Priyadarshan's exit from 'Hera Pheri 3': 'No, he is not part of it'

Producer Feroz Nadiadwala has confirmed that Priyadarshan will not be directing ‘Hera Pheri 3’, saying ‘no, he is not a part of it’. He also praised his long-time collaborators Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, and assured fans that Hera Pheri 3 is moving in the right direction.

Producer Feroz Nadiadwala, who has just begun releasing ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, talks about why ‘Hera Pheri’ director Priyadarshan will not return for the third film in the franchise. In an interview with Variety India, Feroz spoke about his relationship with Akshay, whose involvement was crucial in bringing Welcome to the Jungle to the screens. “Our relationship is like a brotherhood. It is above finance and pressure. Our relationship goes back to 1996-1997. It is based on staying together, working together, and that is the bond we share,” he said.

When asked about his long relationship with Paresh Rawal, Feroz was full of praise for the veteran actor.

“There is no word in the dictionary to describe Paresh bhai. He is unreal. His ideas, support and efforts are beyond the ordinary. There is something spiritual in the way he approaches his work,” he said. When Feroze was asked about the current status of ‘Hera Pheri 3’, he kept it brief but reassuring. “Things are going in the right direction and moving in the right direction,” he said.

When asked if Priyadarshan would return to lead the project, Feroz gave a direct and simple answer, leaving no room for speculation.

He said: No, Priyadarshan is not one of them.

About “Hera Pheri” and “Phir hera phir

For starters, the original ‘Hera Pheri’, based on the Malayalam film ‘Ramji Rao Talking’, turned out to be an unexpected hit and has since cemented its place as one of the most beloved and endlessly quoted comedies in Indian cinema. The second part, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, directed by the late Neeraj Vora, picks up where the first part left off, following the tumultuous adventures of the iconic trio – Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty), and the unforgettable Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal).
