Rae brought everyone to their feet with her powerful voice during her performance at the 2026 BET Awards on Sunday night.
After host Drusky introduces, “Click the Clack Symphony.” The singer took to the stage, wearing a stunning black and white dress. She performed her song “Nightingale Lane”. From her second album, This music may contain hopewhich was released earlier this year.
In typical Ray fashion, she showcased her wide vocal range as well as the emotional depth she brings to her beloved performances. Once her set ended, she received a standing ovation from the audience, much to the awe of fellow performers like Queen Latifah and Keke Palmer.
At the 2026 BET Awards, Ray was also nominated for Best New Artist, alongside Billy Gang Cushington, Destin Conrad, Jaydon, Keon, Miles Minnick, Monalio, Olivia Deen, and Trapp Dickey.
Other artists taking the stage to perform Sunday night included Cardi B, Deutsche, Common, Don Toliver, Jill Scott, Kehlani, French Montana, Max B, Temz, War & Treaty, Durand Bernard, Erica Campbell, Rick Ross, George Clinton, Nas and Rhapsody, among others.
The 2026 concert, hosted by Drusky, was broadcast live on Sunday, June 28 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Before the show began, Cardi B led with a total of six nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist with five each. Other major nominees include Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Olivia Dean, and Latto.
