Actor and politician Ravi Kishan has spoken about the struggles that defined the early years of his career, revealing that he spent 34 years facing rejection before finally finding widespread recognition.
Speaking on the reality show Alliance, in which he stars with his daughter Revva Kishan, the actor recalled watching his contemporaries become stars while he continued to wait for his chance.Alliance recently premiered on Prime Video, hosted by Kunal Kemmu. In the first episode of the show, Ravi spoke about the setbacks he faced despite his full training and preparation for the industry.
“Everyone became a star, and I was left behind.”
Speaking to his fellow contestants, Ravi said he often wonders why success continues to elude him even though he has worked hard to prepare himself as an actor.“Aise hi log pehle mujhe nakaarte the. Starsbante jaa rahe mein in the 90s. I can see them… meri awaaz achhi thi, master trainer tha, ghudsawaari, fighting, urdu, hindi, sab kuch, theatre, dancer. Puri taiyaari thi. I was well prepared. Uske baad bhi dekh raha hoon main said peeche reh gaya.”He admitted that although he believed his turn would eventually come, he had no idea it would take more than three decades.
“Unka samay aagaya toh mera bhi aayega. But mera 34 year baad aayega ye nahi maalum tha,” he said.
“The people who rejected me later invited me to the stage.”
Ravi Kishan said that when success finally arrived, he turned his career around completely.“I ended up winning all the Best Actor awards that year. I went to all these stages where people never used to invite me. They always turned me down. No one thought I would ever achieve anything,” he recalls.According to the actor, those moments were a complete journey after years of perseverance and self-confidence.

Ravi Kishan has been enjoying a successful phase in his career in recent years. His performance in Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies received widespread praise from critics and audiences alike, while his role in the web series Maamla Legal Hai was also appreciated. He was also seen in Maa Behen and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun on the run.Currently, Ravi is seen alongside his daughter Revva Kishan in the reality series Alliance, where the father-daughter duo gives viewers a glimpse of their bond as they face various challenges. He will next be seen in Mirzapur: The Movie, which brings back much of the original cast from the first season, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, and Shreya Pilgaonkar, among others.
