The US District is providing funds to move there and work remotely for a year.
An American city is inviting young workers to come and work remotely from here for at least a year and they will receive a $9,500 relocation package. Not all of the money will be in cash, but $5,500 will be awarded in cash stipends, and $4,000 will be awarded in local experiences and memberships.
All they want is for people from out of state to come here and commit to staying for a year.The program was announced by Fond du Lac County, home to the city of Fond du Lac, on the south shore of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. The talent attraction program was announced by Envision Greater Fond du Lac, the Chamber of Commerce and the county’s economic development organization.The program is designed to help address workforce shortages while attracting younger workers and families to the area.The package includes memberships to the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, golf benefits, VIP admission to arts and cultural attractions, baseball experiences with the FDL Dock Spiders, library tickets and dining experiences. Additional concessions highlight local agriculture, family activities and community events.Fond du Lac is the first community in Wisconsin to participate in the MakeMyMove platform, joining other cities across the country offering incentives to attract new residents.
Who can apply?
- According to MakeMyMove, applicants must be at least 18 years old
- They must currently live outside of Wisconsin and must move to Fond du Lac County within 6 months.
- Annual family income must be at least $55,000.
- Local employment opportunities will also be provided if someone wants to work in the county.
Fond du Lac, with a population of 104,053, is designed for professionals working in remote areas who cherish the ease of small towns with access to the amenities of larger cities, the program said.
