A massive fire broke out in a Himalayan cold store in Lucknow’s Chinhat district, Uttar Pradesh officials said on Sunday.

Fire engines rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the fire. Firefighting operations are currently underway, as officials are trying to control the fire.

When the security guard noticed the huge smoke, he alerted the owner. The owner called the police, after which officials arrived immediately.

Speaking to ANI about the incident, a local resident narrated an incident in which a fire broke out in a cold store in Himalaya.

“A fire broke out in the Himalaya cold store, the source of which remains unknown. Upon noticing smoke, the security guard informed the owner, who then called the police using the emergency number 112. The police arrived immediately, followed by the fire brigade. The cold store usually stores a variety of items; initially, it mainly stored potatoes, but now it also houses a large quantity of other items, including green chillies and dal,” he said.

Further investigations are ongoing, and more details are awaited.
