Written by Murali Gopi and directed by Jain Krishnakumar, Ananthan Kaadu is set against a backdrop of power struggle and social strife. The film stars Arya in the lead role along with Regina Cassandra, Nikhila Vimal, Sunil, Indrance, Dev Mohan, Vijayaraghavan, Abani Sarath and Santhi Balachandran.ETimes noted that the screenplay became burdened with long dialogues and multiple themes. “The film relies too heavily on long speeches, dramatic plot lines, and predictable conflicts,” she wrote in her film review.
The scenario is crowded with political references, historical echoes, and social issues. The Thiruvananthapuram slang gives the film a local flavour, but it feels a bit choppy.”The review also commented on Arya’s role and supporting performances. It read: “Arya is introduced as the central face of the film, but his character, Vetrivel Kumaran, doesn’t get enough space to leave a lasting impact. His personal story is intertwined with several other narratives, and as a result, the emotional weight of his revenge is never fully felt.”
Murali Gopy performs with restraint and Indrans stands out in the serious parts.
Vijayaraghavan, Dev Mohan, Appani Sarath, Santhi Balachandran, Nikhila Vimal, and the rest of the cast perform their roles sincerely.Disclaimer: Box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
