“Let us all work together to liberate our youth from this oppressive system and lay the foundation for a new system that will provide them with the opportunity and support they deserve,” he said in the letter addressed to all party general secretaries, department heads and chairpersons of District Congress Committees (DCC), Pradesh Congress Committees (PCC) and City Congress Committees.

The call comes after the Congress launched a national campaign titled ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ on June 25, aiming for a ‘comprehensive reform’ of the education system, starting with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In the letter, Gandhi appealed to his party presidents and leaders to “extend full support and cooperation” to the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) to ensure successful implementation of the campaign.

“We need to expose the truth about the oppression and extortion faced by India’s youth and create momentum for a message that is spread across the country in a coordinated and effective manner,” he added.

Gandhi also said that the youth are facing an “unprecedented crisis” characterized by paper leaks, cancellation of examinations, frequent re-examinations, rising unemployment rates, vacant government posts, delays in employment and the rising cost of education.

He also said these challenges had caused “profound distress” to young people and their families.

“We are all aware that it is a system that puts enormous pressure on young people and throws their families into a spiral of debt, constant stress and suffering rather than supporting them as they choose career paths and create strong futures for themselves,” Gandhi added.
