Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Seychelles on Saturday for a three-day official visit, during which he will hold talks with President Patrick Herminie and attend the archipelago nation’s Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations.

At Seychelles International Airport, Modi received a grand reception from Herminie and a high-level delegation.
The Prime Minister also received an honorary guard of honour.
“I have landed in Seychelles. I greatly appreciate the warm welcome given by Dr. Patrick Herminie at the airport,” Modi said on X.
“Seychelles is an important maritime partner and close friend in the Indian Ocean. We look forward to a fruitful visit aimed at strengthening our long-term relations and enhancing cooperation for the benefit of our two peoples,” he said.
Before leaving New Delhi on Saturday, Modi said Seychelles is a valued maritime neighbor and a key partner in the “MAHASAGAR Vision” – which translates into mutual and inclusive advancement of security and growth across regions – and India’s shared commitment to the Global South.
The Prime Minister, who is visiting the country at the invitation of President Herminie, will participate in the National Day celebrations as a guest of honour.
Modi said he looked forward to bilateral discussions aimed at further strengthening the enduring friendship.
“Together, we will work to advance the progress of our peoples and enhance security and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region,” he said before his departure.
The two sides are expected to review the full scope of bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.
Officials said that a contingent of the Indian Armed Forces, along with two ships from the Indian Navy, will participate in the celebrations.
The Prime Minister will also address the National Assembly of Seychelles and interact with members of the Indian diaspora.
