Saif Ali Khan found himself in the middle of a horrific incident on January 16, 2025, when an intruder broke into his Bandra home in Mumbai and stabbed him multiple times. The actor suffered six stab wounds, one of which was dangerously close to his spine, sending shockwaves through the entire film industry.

Speaking about the terrifying experience he recently endured, Saif opened up about the incident and whether he would ever find it in his heart to forgive his attacker.

Saif Ali Khan recalls the night the intruder targeted his son J

In a candid conversation with Mojo Story, Saif Ali Khan recalled the terrifying events that took place that night in horrifying detail, describing how the situation unfolded when the intruder targeted his son J. “We all coped differently. It was a crazy thing. This thief breaks into the bathroom window, and the next thing we’re lying in bed and this nanny comes in and tells us there’s someone in J’s room with a knife and demanding money.

I went into the baby’s room and he was holding the baby, and he chopped the baby up a little bit and he chopped up the maid a little bit. Maybe if I turned on the lights, if I asked him, do you know where you are, do you know what you’re doing, and I could have gotten him to talk about that. But something got hold of me and I jumped on him and we got into a fistfight. He went crazy with his knives, and there were cuts and blood everywhere. At that moment, my maid came and threw him across the room.”

Saif Ali Khan talks about whether he can forgive his attacker

Saif also spoke about the moment he honestly thought he might not survive the attack after being stabbed. He also thought about the complex question of whether he could forgive the man who put his life in danger. “I was wearing white pajamas covered in blood, and at one point, I was lying on the floor, and I thought I might die. At that point, I really wanted to be with Taimur and I asked him if he would accompany me to the hospital, and he asked me: ‘Are you going to die?’ I told him no and we went to the hospital together.

I even wanted to forgive this guy because I think he made a huge mistake, and I think he wasn’t looking for a fight. I would be happy to forgive him, but that part where he tried to kill me is the thing I’m having a hard time letting go of. “It is a question of who has and who has not, and inequality is what has led to this.”
