In a development in the Pune realtor murder case, the father of one of the accused, Chetan Chaudhary, has claimed that his son is not involved in the case. Chetan, who is believed to be Siya Goyal’s boyfriend, is accused of helping Goyal plan the murder of 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal.

Babulal Chaudhary, Chetan’s father, refuted the allegations against his son and told HT that Chetan was involved in the case.
“Chetan told me that he was away from them in the fort. He was framed by the so-called rich people. Siya and Chetan were good friends and to save herself, she implicated my son,” he told HT.

However, speaking to news agency ANI – at an unknown time – the father stated that Chetan’s family had no idea who Siya was.
“We have never seen the girl in question and know nothing about her at all. In fact, I only knew her name, Sia, yesterday, and I have never seen her before,” he told ANI.
Chaudhary’s father also claimed that Chetan had no role in the murder.
“He has been falsely accused and he has nothing to do with this matter. He clearly told us that he did not push the boy and was standing away,” he told ANI.
Chetan’s uncle, Adiram Chaudhary, also spoke to ANI and stated that Chetan is “innocent”.
“Chetan is completely innocent in this matter. The media is exaggerating this matter and showing a one-sided view on Instagram, but Chetan is not involved in this. Chetan is a sportsman and a very honest person. There has not been a single complaint against him from anyone in the market,” he said.
Adiram also stated that the family was not aware of any relationship between Siya and Chetan.
Police: More than 2000 calls between Siya and Chetan were recorded
As the case continued to be investigated, police stated that there were more than 2,004 calls between Siya and Chetan, with an average of about 8-10 calls per day.
Officer Dinesh Tayadi, senior police inspector of Lonavla Rural Police Station, also told HT that calls and messages between the accused continued even after Ketan Agarwal’s murder.
Ketan, a 25-year-old real estate manager from Jahungi in Maharashtra, was pushed to death from Lohagad Fort near Lonavala by his fiancée and her alleged lover, officials said.
Initially, Ketan’s death was ruled an accident, as he fell into a gorge while taking photos.
As HT reported earlier, the duo has confessed to committing the murder. However, the victim’s father stated that his son’s murder was the second attempt on his life by Goyal, who also hails from a wealthy business family in Pune, and her accomplice, 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary.
