I ask and pray that you give me the grace and space to navigate this privately. … Liam, my angel. You are my everything. I want you to know that I loved you completely and unconditionally. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam.”
On October 23, 2024, she shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram that read:I don’t even know where to start. My heart was broken in ways I can’t describe in words. I hope you can see the tremendous impact you’ve had on the world, even as it seems so dark right now. You have brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone, your millions of fans, family, friends, and especially me. You are so incredibly loved.
Kate concluded her post, which included pictures of them together, saying: “I keep your note close, even though you asked me not to look at it. It read: “Kate and I are getting married in a year / Engaged and living together forever 444.” Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not the way we planned. You will always be with me. You have gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, and I will carry our dreams and memories with me wherever I go. Yours forever, Caitlin.”
Now, nearly two years after Liam’s death, Kate has moved on with a new man but revealed things didn’t go well as she compared him to the late ‘Night Changes’ singer.

Liam and Kate met for the first time in 2022
While no one has revealed the exact beginning of Kate’s romance with the “Strip That Down” singer, it seems likely that it began around September 11, 2022, when a local news station in Charleston reported Liam was in the area. In a TikTok post shared in September 2024, Kate revealed that they met while working at a bar in the seaside city called Ritual. It was only her second week on the job, and they ended up going bowling and going on a ghost tour the next day.
