The death of 26-year-old property manager Ketan Agrawal in Pune has put his fiancée and lover Sia Goyal in the spotlight, as the incident comes just months before their scheduled wedding.
The details, charges and revelations in the case so far are eerily similar to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed by his wife during their honeymoon in Meghalaya last year.
The Pune case, which was initially believed to be an accidental death, turned into a murder conspiracy after Sia Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary confessed to kicking Agarwal out of Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18.
Several clues, including Siya’s insistence on going to Lohagad a second time, Ketan Agrawal’s missing passport, and a jacket worn by the lover in the height of summer, helped the cops unravel the murder plot.

Since the murder plot was exposed, Sia Goyal has been in the spotlight for her alleged role in the crime and her attempts to pass off the murder case as an accidental death.
What do you know about Sia Goyal?
Siya Goyal, 20, belongs to a wealthy business family in Pune, like her fiancé Ketan Agarwal, director of the family-run real estate firm Success Group.
Her family resides in Bibwewadi, Pune, and is involved in the dry fruit business. Sia got engaged to Ketan in February this year, with Ketan’s uncle playing matchmaker between the two families.
The wedding was scheduled in Udaipur in November this year, and hotels were already booked for the event. Families were expected to spend around it $14 crore on the celebrations.
However, Sia was in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary, whose family also ran a business in the same city where Goyal’s father was located. Police said the two had been in a relationship for about a year. The two knew each other through business circles and were in regular contact.
How did Siya Goyal carry out the murder plot?
Police said the couple had visited Lohagad Fort on a trip four days before Ketan’s death, when Siya tried to push him off a cliff after he allegedly spotted a snake. She then insisted on making a second trip to the fort on June 18, a day before her birthday, where she allegedly pushed him to his death.

Police later told that Ketan slipped and fell while taking photos near the fort.
Videos have surfaced on social media platforms showing Ketan Agarwal organizing an elaborate birthday celebration for Sia ahead of her 20th birthday on June 19. Family members said Ketan spent nearly a month planning the celebrations.
Ketan Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, told HT that his son raised concerns about Sia’s behaviour, but the family ignored them.
Siya and Chetan have been booked for murder and conspiracy under Sections 103 and 61 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act. The two were arrested and sent to police custody for seven days on Tuesday.
