Madhavan responded to being awarded the Padma Shri, saying he felt “deeply humbled” and “deeply grateful” to have been awarded one of the country’s highest civilian honours.The actor, who enjoyed the success of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, shared a picture from the inauguration ceremony where he received the award from President Draupadi Murmu.

“Very humble and very grateful”

Expressing his gratitude, Madhavan thanked the Government of India for honoring him and the Government of Maharashtra for recommending his name.“I am deeply humbled, deeply grateful and truly honored to be conferred with the Padma Shri.I express my profound gratitude to the Government of India for bestowing upon me one of the highest civilian honors of our country. I am equally grateful to the Government of Maharashtra for recommending my name and placing their trust in my journey.

“This recognition is something I will cherish for the rest of my life,” he wrote.The actor also dedicated this honor to his fans, acknowledging their role in his journey.He added: “To every person who has watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgiven my flaws, and stood by me over the years, this honor is yours as much as it is mine. Your affection has been the driving force behind every milestone in my life and career.”

“Every privilege carries with it a greater duty.”

Madhavan further said that recognition comes with a sense of responsibility.“Today, I also feel a deep sense of responsibility. Padma Awards 2026

Besides Madhavan, Malayalam superstar Mammootty and singer Alka Yagnik were honored with the Padma Bhushan this year. As for the late actor Satish Shah, his brother Arvind Shah received the award on his behalf.This year, President Draupadi Murmu approved 131 Padma Awards, including five Padma Vibhushan Awards, 13 Padma Bhushan Awards, and 113 Padma Shri Awards.
