Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez will voice the stars in Illumination’s upcoming space film. Not aloneIt was announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Chalamet teased the announcement on his Instagram story on Sunday night. He posted a photo of a cloudy sky with the caption “New movie trailer tmrw :)” superimposed on the image, with a small emoji of a rocket, looking like it’s exploding in space.

The role marks Chalamet’s first animated feature film and sees him playing introverted missile mechanic Joe. Gomez is set to voice Fran, an astro-botanist working to develop the first-ever plant-fueled rocket.
“When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance,” according to a synopsis from Universal. “Life gets more complicated when three aliens—unruly and cute kids—take refuge in Joe’s house. Dunk, Willy and Sherm are on the interplanetary escape from an enthusiastic but incompetent law officer named Xandro. The aliens decide that Fran’s rocket could provide them with a way home to safety.”
The aliens will be voiced by British comedians Rob Brydon, Dianne Morgan and Jamie Demetriou. Brett Goldstein will voice Officer Zandro. The supporting voice cast includes Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.
