Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again showed why he is considered one of India’s brightest young talents, as he produced a stunning 94 off just 29 balls against Sri Lanka A in the Tri-Nation Series final.

The 15-year-old batted at a staggering average of 324.14, hitting 10 fours and 8 sixes before falling 6 runs short of a century. While this innings ranks among the most devastating ever for India A in the 50-over format, it was not the fastest-scoring knock of his young career. The 15-year-old opener unleashed a stunning onslaught on the Sri Lanka bowlers after Sri Lanka A opted to take first, racing to a half-century in just 11 deliveries, conjuring up a stunning sequence of 4, 4, 4, 6, 6, 0, 6, 4, 4, 6, 6 from his first 11 deliveries.

In doing so, Sooryavanshi broke the previous world record of 12-ball fifty, set by Sri Lankan Kaushalya Weeraratne in 2005.

But this was his second-best innings in terms of strike rate. The best came in November 2025, when the left-hander, aged just 14 years and 232 days, rewrote the record books by scoring 144 off 42 balls against the UAE in the Rising Stars Asian Cup.In that T20 match, he smashed 11 fours and 15 sixes, scoring an impressive strike rate of 342.86.

He reached his century in just 32 balls, making it the joint third-fastest century in T20 by an Indian batsman with Rishabh Pant who smashed a 32-ball hundred for Delhi in the SMAT. Sooryavanshi captained India A to a massive tally of 297/4 in 20 overs and played a key role in guiding the team to an emphatic 148-run victory. Although Vaibhav Sooyavanshi’s highest performance for Team India came in the Under-19 final against England in 2026. Vaibhav dismantled the England bowling attack with 15 fours and 15 sixes and scored 175 runs off just 80 balls at a strike rate of 218.75 and enabled India to a record 411/9 in the final.
