A man fell to his death during Gus’ concert Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, according to the NYPD and reports related to the incident.

A 51-year-old concertgoer fell from high chairs in the arena, according to concertgoers on social media and in reports.

Police officers, responding to a 911 call, found the man “unconscious and unresponsive” inside the arena shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday night, the NYPD said in a statement. The statement added that he suffered “injuries indicating a fall from a high place” and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a statement posted on social media early Sunday morning, Goss said he was “deeply saddened and saddened to learn of the tragic event that occurred on tonight’s show.”

The band continued: “We express our deepest sympathy to all those affected.” “Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”

MSG Entertainment added in a statement: “As we await the police report on the tragedy that occurred at the Goose concert last night, we are deeply saddened by the loss of the life of a fan at Madison Square Garden. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the concertgoer.”

A number of partygoers posted on Reddit, claiming that the man had fallen from level 300 to level 100.

“[I] It was eight seats away. I heard it and saw it. “MSG gave us drill wristbands and we took the plunge,” one attendee wrote on Reddit.

The concert continued after the incident, and the band performed its full set, ending at midnight, according to reports.

Saturday’s show was the second of a two-night show at the park for the Connecticut jam band, which is touring across the U.S. and Canada through November. Its next show is scheduled for Sunday night at SummerStage in Central Park.

Saturday night’s concert was also streamed live on Amazon Music.
