Considerable security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the exam is conducted smoothly for the 22.79 lakh candidates who will appear.

On Friday, the Government issued detailed advice on where to follow updates on testing, and also listed the arrangements in place.

WhatsApp updates, blue tick account

The National Testing Agency (NTA) said in an advisory that students will receive updates on the re-test through the testing agency’s WhatsApp account, with the number – +917827980287.

“Look for the verified blue tick and the official display name ‘National Testing Agency.’ “A number without a blue tick is not an NTA, even if it uses our name,” the NTA statement said.

It also said that the channel will be broadcast only, meaning NTA will not ask for responses or important information like personal details or OTPs, or make any payments.

Where can I download admit cards?

New admit cards have been made available to the candidates and the admit cards for May 3 examination are now invalid. “Download your admit card only from the official website. Open your browser and type the address yourself: neet.nta.nic.in. Do not rely on links redirected by anyone,” NTA said.

If candidates receive suspicious or fraudulent messages, they can report at https://innovateindia.mygov.in/neet-ug-2026/, or if they lose money due to a scam, they should contact the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in immediately.

Examination centers are under CCTV surveillance, 2 thousand employees have been mobilized

In a coordinated effort to ensure smooth conduct of the re-examination process across 551 cities in India, 6,669 invigilators have been deployed for independent monitoring at examination centres. Besides, district administrations, police forces and escort teams will undertake the safe transportation of confidential examination materials, NTA said.

A look at some of the security arrangements in place:

  • Comprehensive safe handling of confidential materials in designated locations under sealed protocols.
  • GPS-equipped vehicles with police escort to transport screening materials.
  • CCTV monitoring in all examination centers, linking them to central control rooms.
  • Mandatory inspection via highly sensitive metal detectors before entry, with enhanced manpower and equipment at each centre.
  • Aadhaar-based biometric authentication to prevent impersonation
  • Real-time monitoring through central control systems.

Telegram group, fake paper leak in Rajasthan

Reports of fake paper leakage have emerged in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. According to the police, a 21-year-old man manufactured the counterfeit paper, and some even sold it. “He has been arrested by Pratap Nagar police station. A case has been registered against him and investigation is underway,” DSP Nimmi Chand Chaudhary was quoted as saying by ANI.

The official also said that the boy, identified as Akash Chaudhary, was able to open Telegram through a VPN and around 45 members signed up for his group.

Government warns against fake paper leak claims

A re-test of the NEET-UG was ordered last month in view of allegations of paper leak that surfaced after the May 3 exam. However, the government clarified that the re-examination paper had not been leaked, and advised people not to believe false claims.
