The incident occurred in Begusarai on June 11 when the woman left her home to attend the call of nature. As soon as she left her home, five people grabbed her, tied her mouth, and assaulted her. She rushed to the hospital on June 12, and her husband informed the police, who then arrived at the hospital and opened an investigation. Later, she was discharged from the hospital. On June 13, the medical report confirmed that rape had occurred, but the police recorded a case of assault. Days after the incident, the woman complained of severe pain in her genitals.

She was hospitalized again on Wednesday. During the examination, the doctor found cartridges, stones and wood from her genitals.

Chilling details

A police team led by the DSP reached the hospital on Thursday and collected details from the authority. Meanwhile, civil surgeon Ashok Kumar said that a medical committee has been constituted to examine her.

The victim alleged that at approximately 11:30 pm on June 11, five people forcibly carried her to a secluded place where she was raped. The miscreants allegedly locked her husband inside the house at that time.

The survivor told the police: “When I tried to resist, they beat me. They attacked me on my chest and thighs with a blade. After committing the crime, they threw me inside the house.”

“The woman had come here earlier. She spoke about pain. But we felt there was pain due to the gang rape. When the victim again reached the hospital, an examination was conducted on her and a cartridge, stones and wood were found in her genitals,” Dr Akhilesh Kumar said.

Begusarai SP Manish said that an investigation has been ordered into the incident. A special team was formed to arrest all the accused. He added that the police will identify the perpetrators and arrest them soon.
