Misfits frontman Glenn Danzig will return from the stage to the director’s chair Hell maskIt is a new feature that he will take from his comic book.

This project will be his third feature film as director, as the film is based on his comic book of the same name. Publisher Danzig Verotik, which focuses on dark fantasy and horror, is lagging behind Hell maskwhich begins life in the Verotik 30th Anniversary Edition in October 2023.

The book, according to the opening line, is “set against a brutal medieval backdrop filled with black magic, armored warriors and huge, bloody battle scenes.” Hell mask “It follows a violent supernatural story steeped in gothic atmosphere.”

Veteran indie horror and action filmmaker James Cullen Brissack is producing the film, with casting currently underway and planned to go before cameras in August. Bressack recently wrapped a horror film shot entirely on VHS.

Danzig previously delved into his comic books on screen in 2019 Veroticawhile also directing the vampire spaghetti western Death Rider in the House of Vampiresreleased in 2021.

In addition to The Misfits, he is the founder of the rock band Samhain and the metal band Danzig, and his music has also been featured in films such as Waste and sign.

Danzig is represented by CAA.
