Taylor Swift celebrated the release of… Toy Story 5 With a post on X on Thursday, where she seemed to suggest that it only took her one day to write and produce “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

“It’s been kind of a hectic day,” Swift said in the video, smiling and nervous. “At 11 a.m., I went to see Toy Story 5. I got super inspired, got the Zoomies songwriter, went home, and wrote the final song for Toy Story 5. We’ve produced it now, and I’m singing it. It’s 6:57 p.m., and in two hours Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it. We haven’t recorded it yet, and I think this is one of the most fun days of my life.

It’s not clear when the video was actually filmed, or how much recording of the song took place on the same day before that meeting with Disney executives. However, the idea that Swift was able to write and produce an entire song in just a few hours of work immediately after seeing the movie — let alone recording it — is in itself impressive.

“I Knew It, I Knew You”, which he co-wrote with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, serves as the end credits song for the latest toy story The film releases on Friday. The song features Swift, recently inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, returning to her country roots, a fitting choice since the song was inspired by cowgirl Jessie. The song, which debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart this week, already has early buzz as an Oscar contender for Best Original Song.

“Writing this song felt like a musical release and a homecoming at the same time,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post after the song’s release earlier in June. “Creating something for Jesse was a new challenge and also felt like second nature at the same time. Being a kid in the gaming world from the age of five until now…is an adventure I plan to take, to infinity and beyond.”
