Chalk this up to the odd timing and lag in Nielsen’s streaming ratings reporting: the day after news broke that Netflix had canceled its series BiologyNielsen numbers show that the premiere week was strong.
Biologyexecutive produced Strange things Creators Matt and Ross Duffer had 1.2 billion viewing minutes in the US for the week of May 18-24 (the show premiered on May 21). It placed second overall, behind another Netflix drama, Nemesis (1.31 billion minutes).
With a running time of six hours and 15 minutes, Biology It received about 3.2 million views (total minutes viewed divided by running time) in the United States for the week. This represents about 57 percent of the 5.6 million worldwide views reported by Netflix in the show’s first week (although the streamer and Nielsen have different ways of collecting the data).
enemy It grew 57 percent from its premiere week. And in another strange coincidence, both enemy and Biology They come from creators who have since moved on to other media companies. enemy Signed creator Courtney A. Kemp signed a deal with Apple TV in May, and the Duffer brothers moved to Paramount earlier in the year.
Boys It recorded 1.07 billion minutes of viewing time for the final week of its series on Prime Video. This was the show’s third consecutive week of over 1 billion minutes. Nielsen says the series has garnered more than 50 billion viewing minutes since January 2020, when the ratings service began tracking weekly viewing.
Dutton Farm (736 million minutes) improved slightly with the release of Episode 3 on Paramount+. Another Yellowstone, CBS spin-off Marshalsalso debuted at first on the earned series chart with 528 million minutes viewed on Paramount+ and Pluto TV. Off campus (690 million minutes) has grown 34 percent since its debut on Prime Video.
Netflix documentary Collapse It topped the top 10 list with 1.18 billion minutes of viewing time. Jack Ryan: Ghost Wara feature film based on the Prime Video series, grossed 809 million minutes in its first five days.
