Christmas has come early for Apple Original Films, as it will re-team with director Peter Baynton for a children’s picture book adaptation Little Santa By author and illustrator John Agee.
The latest collaboration comes after Baynton received an Oscar for Apple’s animated short film The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse. Little Santa The animated musical comedy-adventure will follow Santa Claus as a child on an Oz-like journey through the North Pole, where he meets and inspires offbeat friends who make Christmas and remind the world to believe, according to a synopsis from producers.
Baynton will direct Little Santa The film is based on a screenplay by Martin Hines and will feature original songs composed by Martin Hines Concorde Airlines Brett McKenzie. Wildbrain will conduct pre-production and animation for Little Santawith Julia Pistor producing and Haynes and MacKenzie sharing executive producer credits.
