Music composer Pritam’s birthday message on June 14 has sparked speculation among fans that he might move away from the music industry. The uproar grew stronger as many compared his post to singer Arijit Singh’s retirement announcement earlier this year.
However, sources close to the composer have clarified that Pritam has no plans to quit music. In his birthday message, Pritam thanked fans for their wishes and thought about their desire to make way for new experiences in life. “Thank you for all your wishes. I can’t respond to everyone individually, but please accept my sincere gratitude. Today, I decided to give myself a few years to live a different life. To get back what I missed.”
He also hinted at pursuing long-held aspirations and interests beyond his mainstream work. His post also read, “It’s time to embark on new journeys, which have been kept on the back burner for so long. Mainstream is a great journey. But I’ve always been more curious about the unexplored roads. Thank you for all the love and support. Always.”
The message led many followers to believe that the famous composer was preparing to say goodbye to the industry.
However, a source close to Pritam denied the speculation, stating that the composer is simply looking forward to devoting more time to other passions while continuing his music career.“Pritam is not leaving the music industry. He will of course continue working. Through his post, he has only highlighted that he has some other areas that he would like to prioritize at the moment. This does not mean that he will exit the music industry forever,” the source told Hindustan Times.According to the source, Pritam plans to focus on some personal interests and projects as he begins a new chapter in his life, but music will remain an important part of his journey.Retirement rumors gained momentum as fans compared Pritam’s post with Arijit Singh’s announcement in January this year. The singer had then revealed his decision to stop accepting new singing assignments.“Hey, Happy New Year everyone. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I’m happy to announce that I won’t be taking on any new duties as a playback singer from now on. I’ve called it off. It’s been an amazing journey.”
